EXIM has won the 2021 award of the London-based cfi.co (Capital Finance International) for Best Cross-Border Financing Bank and was runner-up in the public vote of the #EXIM1000 challenge in the ‘Effect 2030’ Community Investment competition.
According to the CFI assessment: "EXIM Hungary was established in 1994 and plays a crucial role in driving the country’s national exports, which account for above 80 percent of GDP in Hungary. Part of a global network of 84 export credit agencies, EXIM Hungary is able to finance and insure international trade for customers in 127 countries — with SMEs prominently featured.” In its justification for the award, the CFI explains, among others, that "EXIM has achieved significant growth over the past five years. The EXIM portfolio totalled $3.5bn in 2016 — and $5.5bn by the end of 2020." Then CFI adds: “When the global pandemic began to cause complications in international trade, the bank focused on domestic financing, offering fixed-interest loans to cover it’s customers’s financial needs. Now it is moving forward with plans to unlock new export markets for Hungary as well." The CFI.co judging panel has recognised an agile organisation that efficiently collaborates with clients and financial institutions to achieve positive outcomes.

In addition to the international professional accolade, the domestic audience also voted for EXIM's philanthropic efforts: the #EXIM1000-challenge organised at the beginning of this year was shortlisted and came second in the public vote for the Effect 2030 - Community Investment competition.
