Economist, Titular University Professor
He studied at Budapest University of Economic Sciences and wrote his doctoral dissertation on modern banking supervision and regulation. He passed an examination in public administration in 2015.
His banking career began in 1993, when he started to work as a senior credit officer at Konzumbank Rt. in the town of Orosháza. From 1994 he worked – also as a senior credit officer – for Kereskedelmi és Hitelbank Rt. (K&H Bank), another commercial bank in the same town, and in 1996 he was appointed branch office manager in the town of Szarvas. Between 1998 and 2004 he was director of the Csongrád County Directorate of OTP Bank Plc., and between 2004 and 2006 he was advisor to the CEO of OTP Bank Plc.
Between 2006 and 2010 he was Vice Mayor and from 2010 until 2014 Mayor of the town of Orosháza. Between 1998 and 2014 he also worked as a Member of Parliament. From 2014 until 2017 he was President of the Hungarian State Treasury.
At present he is working as lecturer at Corvinus University of Budapest. He was co-author of a university textbook on banking operations (Banküzemtan, 1998), and one on taxation, general government budget management and public finance (Adózási pénzügytan és államháztartási gazdálkodás – Közpénzügyek és államháztartástan II., 2015).
He is member of the Board of Trustees of the Pro Szeged Foundation, and member of the Presidency of the Hungarian Economic Association’s Development Economics Section.
Since February 1, 2018 he has been Deputy CEO of EXIM (comprising the Hungarian Export-Import Bank Plc. and the Hungarian Export Credit Insurance Plc).
He has language proficiency certificates in English and Russian.
