EXIM GREEN Finance Framework

As the leading green financing bank in Hungary, in 2021, Eximbank decided to establish a Green Finance Framework (hereinafter: GFF) in line with international and Hungarian regulations as the basis of its sustainability financing programme.

The document includes:

  • the green credit purposes that can be financed,
  • the evaluation and selection of eligible projects,
  • the rules for the use of loan proceeds,

and the content of the annual public reporting on placement activities carried out in accordance with the GFF conditions.

Our green products are based on our rules and regulations, so the Green Finance Framework and the related product descriptions jointly define the conditions under which favourable financing can be granted to companies.

over 218 million euros worth Green investment

We contributed to the implementation of investments worth a total of over 218 million euros.

Savings equivalent to 79 million kg co2

Our green credit transactions have resulted in total savings of more than 79 million kg of CO2 equivalent.

80% renewable energy production

80% of the transactions focused on renewable energy production, while the composition of the transactions further diversified: some of them targeted waste management, sustainable real estate development, and energy efficiency loan purposes.

GREEN EVENTS

We regularly organise internal events to educate our colleagues and to strengthen our commitment to environmental awareness and sustainability. In recent years, we have held team-building events focusing on mental health and volunteer days to demonstrate the power of community.

GREENING OUR OWN OPERATIONS

We see our commitment to sustainability as a strategic move, and we strive to embrace green solutions at all levels of our operation, whether it’s our long-standing PET and paper-free policy, our digitised HR processes or our energy efficiency.

EXIM CARE PROGRAMME

With our series of programmes organised for our colleagues, we aimed to raise awareness of sustainability: our colleagues participated in various environmental education lectures and workshops, as well as volunteer activities such as assembling food boxes, collecting garbage or planting seedlings.
