Large number of SMEs supported by EXIM’s Compensation Program products
‘2020 was about replanning and not only in our everyday life but also in the business sector, including the lives of enterprises operating on export markets.’ – said Gergely Jákli in an interview with Portfolio.hu.
The CEO, Chairman of the Board of Directors at EXIM Hungary also mentioned that ‘Eximbank was able to change pace at the right time, to reweight tasks and to launch an economic stimulus activity that had not been planned as part of our medium-term operation.’
Thanks to the Compensation Programs Package launched in order to offset the negative economic consequences of the pandemic, the loan portfolio of the bank increased by more than 40% compared to the previous year. In addition, the bank managed to address a larger share of the SME sector than ever before.
‘Our aim was to create a unique program that can provide a genuine solution to the entire corporate sector operating in the export value chain, irrespective of the company size’ – added Gergely Jákli who also mentioned that ‘SMEs play a very important role in the export value chain; the suppliers of medium- or large-sized enterprises are usually small businesses; i.e. they take part in the export activity without leaving the country but with time they have the potential of entering the export markets on their own.’
